This Severna Park icon is the BEST for those days you just need donuts and coffee! I love the simple diner atmosphere and the unbeatable prices. Yes you have to pay in cash but they provide an in-store ATM so no excuses for not giving this place a try. The donuts are your basic cake donut and come in a variety of flavors. I'm a stickler for a vanilla sprinkle every time but I have had several others that are equally delicious. The coffee isn't anything fancy but that's what I like about it and it compliments the sweetness of the donuts like non-other. Don't pass this place when you're on Rt. 2- you won't regret it.

CASH ONLY!! We received a coupon in the mail so we decided to try Donut Shack. I love how it is family owned and not a chain. I will admit that we were a little disappointed. The donuts were dry and a lot of the glazed donuts needed more glaze. Maybe we had an old batch. The price for a dozen is great... $7 and some change. We will definitely give them another shot and hopefully we will get the moist donuts that everyone else is raving about. Heating up the donut on day 2 in the microwave for 15 seconds made the donut taste a lot better. The coffee is ok. A little weak and watery. Next time I will stick to juice.

I love donuts. These donuts are nice and dense. The texture is very rich - the dough is not dry at all. The donut were fluffed enough but not too airy. The dough kind of a fresh baked cheese effect - the dough hung when you tore it (so kind of a brilliant under baked donut). I would definitely recommend this place!

As a medical student, I tried these when our attending surprised the ICU team with boxes of fresh donuts after a long weekend of hard work. I had a chocolate glazed and it seriously was the best. thing. ever. Super fresh, melt in your mouth goodness! I love donuts and it is sometimes hard to find a good one in the Baltimore area. Will definitely need to pay this place a visit to try some other varieties!

I've been going here since I was in diapers. This place has been around for ages and remains as amazing as I remember. Donuts are always light and fluffy, never greasy and sometimes you're lucky and get a fresh out of the oven one. Mmm. One of my best gal friends is a donut aficionado and her eyes lit up like a Christmas tree when I brought her a box of heaven from here. They are open 24 hours and I have had many a drunken donut here (don't look at me). Staff is always really pleasant and service is fast. It's cash only, but there is an ATM on site in case you don't have any on you. If you love donuts, Donut Shack does not disappoint!

What you need to know: -CASH ONLY (there's an ATM onsite) -24 hours -You will feel like you're stepping back in time when you see the inside -It smells really good in there -Donuts are fresh and sweet and yummy (even the cake donuts--and I don't usually like cake donuts. They are very fluffy here.) -You might as well just buy a dozen -I don't love the coffee, but it's ok

LOOK NO FURTHER !!!!! The Donut Shack is hands down the most amazing place to get a fresh real doughnut from. My wife was born and raised in New Orleans and grew up eating Terry Town Donuts and District Donuts. We have been searching for quite some time now for the true real american doughnut...... and we sure as heck found it !! If you are sitting there searching and searching on yelp and Google or any other search engine like I did...... stop now !!! Get in your vehicle and go get a dozen or even two dozen of these little pieces of heaven !!!!! We loved the atmosphere and location was easy to find .... place had a bunch of locals in there at 7 am which was awesome. Reminds you of cheers and Norm. The owner was greeting familiar faces and the regulars with coffee and kind how do you do's. This will be our forever place to get doughnuts. Truly made with love!!! No one cares that it's cash only ...... as cheap as it was you should be ashamed of yourself if you don't have enough change in your car for some. #donutsforpresident

Old school donuts, with a new spin, these pastries are real deal fresh with a taste of the past using modern ingredients. If you are expecting small Krispy Kreme size donuts you are going to be alarmed. My only complaint is that they only take cash. They do however have an onsite ATM machine. Great food at a great price, and a family owned and operated shop that is open every time I have needed a sugar fix. God bless the small mom and pop place, show them your support.

This is a must visit. The ambiance is super fun retro diner shop hop. Very good donuts. A good place to take a date or out of town guests. Nice people.

OMG where do start?! Their donuts are absolutely amazing! So delicious! I'm so surprised how light and airy the donuts are! Their Boston creme is one of the best I've ever had! Perfect place for your late night cravings. Totally appreciate that they're open 24 hours. Closer than Krispy Kreme. Bottom line, if you're questioning yourself as to whether or not you should try it, just GO and see and taste for yourself! But as everyone else has said, it's cash only, but there is an ATM in the store in case you forget. $7.50 (tax included) for a dozen is hands down a good enough reason to forgive yourself for not having more self-restraint.

Old school style, freshly baked sweets, and wonderful people make this a great weekend morning tradition. Try the apple fritter, it's my favorite!

Brought a dozen donuts, and five of those have mold. Glad looked before put in my mouth. Got three strawberry short cakes all of them have mold. They need to keep their food fresh and not selling donuts with mold.

If you ever miss the quality of fresh dunkin donuts from decades ago, this is seriously the place to go. It's been 15 years since my lips have ever tasted such divine deliciousness. Their moist donut are cheap, big, flavorful, and most importantly don't skimp on the toppings. They are open 24/7, their staff friendly, cash only, and home to nostalgia. This is how all donut shops should be damnit!!

    (5)
  • Courtney K.

Bottom Line: This decades old donut shop continues to woo customers with delicious homemade donuts served with a smile. If you are wondering how a little donut shop has such awesome Yelp reviews, here's why: - Awesome donuts. The Chop Suey is their signature donut but I still love a Boston Creme. They are made fresh, in store unlike chain donut shops. Something about these handcut donuts make them all the tastier. Light and fluffy, never swimming in grease. - The donut holes are awesome too! I think they come in six or seven flavors (compared to DD that only offers them in three) and they are great for sharing. Showing up the work with a box of donut holes (available in two sizes) makes "the case of the Mondays" disappear. - Fresh coffee served in sturdy cops with sealable lids - Soup! Yes, they make great soup and I think there is even a soup and donut special. - Although the decor is dated, don't think this place is dirty. Despite being a 24/7 business, Donut Shack is always perfectly clean. The owners take great pride in this establishment. - Nostalgia. Many people in the Severna Park area have been coming here for years or even decades. Every time I walk in here, it brings back memories of my childhood. (Mostly begging my Mom to take me here after church.) - Prices are very reasonable. As others have pointed out, Donut Shack is a cash only establishment. Although this can kinda be a pain, I am sure it helps keep their prices low and they do have an ATM inside.

My Bebe tried peanut donut and I had cinnamon roll and both were not too sweet and freshly baked. We also bought a dozen to take home and I tried the strawberry creme and it was so good, just enough sweetness to satisfy one's sweet tooth but I gotta try the other flavors.

One word. AMAZING. This place is donut heaven. I seen Jesus the last time I bit into a honey dip. Usually a place that doesn't except credit cards in this day and age typically doesn't get above 3 stars in my book. The only exception to the rule is if you have a atm machine without fees on site. Doughnut shack only excepts cash and has a atm charge. Do I think this is fair??? No. But let's be honest here... I'd walk a mile in the blistering cold in my swimming trunks to eat here. They got you right where they want you. Worlds most delicious doughnuts and cash only. For a small fee of $7.50 you get a dozen of circular amazingness. I'm not worthy doughnut shack....I'm not worthy.

  • Jennifer N.

Best donuts around! Sooo much better than dunkin. Love the honey dipstick. Coffee is so-so. Always a fun place to sit down for a little while and hang out with the regulars. They also serve soup, which I've heard is good, but I don't have any personal experience with the soup. Oh, and I wish they had splenda.

24/7 access to Donuts and coffee? What more could you possibly want? Fantastic shop. The assortment of donuts is HUGE and they are absolutely fresh and amazing. I was really pleased to find non-traditional offerings such as peach jelly donuts, blueberry jelly donuts, peanut covered donuts and the list goes on! Donuts are $1 each or just under $8 for a dozen. Cheaper than Dunkin and far superior. Don't be fooled by its location, one thing that really stood out for me was how amazingly clean the entire shop was. Absolutely every surface was spotless.

If you are an avid donut lover... This is your Mecca! For $7.50 (Cash) you can leave with a dozen fresh made donuts in a variety of flavors or if you feel so inclined you can dine in am enjoy the dinner style bar seating. The donut shack is open 24 hours a day to feed your fix. I personally like their cake donuts with their crunchy glazed exterior and soft cake interior... Makes me glad I went this morning.

    (5)
  • Jennifer P.

How can you express AMAZING?!? Their donuts are SO fresh and tasty! Dunkin Donuts has nothing on them. We ordered the donut bites/small box which costs $5.25...to my surprise it's not limited to a number of donuts like Dunkin Donuts but rather they filled the entire box! There must have been 50+ donuts in the box. The sugared jelly donuts and glazed donuts are to die for! Only thing is...CASH ONLY! Must try!

  • Katie G.

Great place, good atmosphere. I got an apple fritter which was good. It wasn't as sweet as I am used to, but really good. The only thing that could've made it perfect was pieces of apple in it. Got coffee with cream and sugar to go. She asked if I wanted cream and sugar, I said yes thinking she would give me stuff to put in myself, but she handed me the coffee with cream and sugar in it. I think there is one sugar in it? So I will have to out in some more, but great coffee otherwise. It's cash only, but cheap enough that you probably have enough cash to cover it without using the ATM. If you don't have cash, there is an ATM there OR you can go to Royal farms right down the street because their ATMs don't have a service charge fee. My apple fritter and small coffee to go was $3 even! Cheap enough for me :)

Just left there and wow, gotta say- I was impressed! After having a bad day at work, stopped by to check it out and was instantly happy with the cozy clean sitting areas and both an older nice , and younger hardworking girl with a sweet smile helped me with my order. I was initially going to take a donut and run but I found the atmosphere so inviting that I had to try 2 donuts and a coffee and sit down and eat. I had a chocolate filled powdered donut and a huge donut that looked like a pasty but filled with cream cheese filling. I go to dunkin donuts sometimes and they only put a 1/5 of the creme that donut shack used , plus the filling tasted sweeter and the donuts were very soft and fresh. The chocolate and the cream cheese fillings were much better than anywhere I've been. The customer service is top rate, the place is very welcoming/inviting and the donuts are top notch! I'd recommend them to everyone! I'm just sad I drove by for the last year before I thought to check it out. Also I've they expended their menus I could see coming here for lunch too. Great Place! Don't pass it up!

  • Vida O.

Cute diner like place in S.P. Not bad at all. I have to say I really like that the donuts were not overly sweet. The actually donut itself is bland but if you get it glazed or with the creme it will sweeten it. It's perfect because you won't feel sick after the third donut like you do with Krispey Kremes lol. I recommend the honey glazed and the yeast donuts. ;)

  • Steph S.

Cheaper than Dunkin Donuts, and so much better! I am not even remotely a fan of donuts, just not my thing, however..I do highly enjoy these donuts. They are cash only, which is why the 4 start rating and not 5. I just never remember to bring cash with me anywhere. They're so cheap though chances are I can manage to find enough change in my purse or car to buy a donut. The workers are really nice as well.

  • Melanie T.

Great donuts, lots of variety, friendly service, affordable (compared to my other favorite donut place in the area, Carlson's), and open 24/7 (another plus over Carlson's)! Who can beat that?!

    (5)
  • Courtney C.

I'm not a big donut fan. I hate the film they can leave in your mouth. The Donut Shack donuts don't do that! The selection is great. The staff was kind. The price is cheap. The donuts were fresh and so delicious. Totally worth the sugar over load. Yum!

Best donuts in the area! Fantastic! The place is clean and I love the orange bags!

  • Rob S.

I really want to like this place. 24 hours old school donut. Simple menu. But even three stars feels generous. AND after my first poor experience I wrote it off to bad timing in the days before they closed for holiday. Now I've been there three times and.... Why sell fresh donuts only in the morning if that is all you do. And soup. Soup. Tried it twice terrible both times. Donuts had three times not worth going there for and the coffee isn't terrible. But again. For this being a donut and Coffee shop. Not good enough. Not better than wawa that takes credit cards. As for service I'd day one time was a grade of "B" and the other two times "C-"

Went there noon on a Sunday. Everything was fresh. Their glazed was soft and chewy Get anything that has custard creme. It's homemade and very good. It was the highlight.

Recently I bookmarked a few places I found here on Yelp that I wanted to check out, one of them was Donut Shack. So how weird was it then when I heard on the radio this morning, that today was National Donut Day!? You know what that means! Four donuts later... (Yes, four, I'm so ashamed) let me just say that, OMG their donuts are dangerously delicious. (I know there's a pie place called that, but whatever) The Strawberry Shortcake donut was ridiculously outstanding. The Lemon and Maple donuts are similar to Dunkin Donuts, but only as far as they look - they are way, WAY better! No stale and greasy aftertaste like DD. And I was a few bites into the Fudgie, when I decided to cut it in half and save the rest for later (thumbs up, but it's more of a cake donut, I prefer the other kind better). As another reviewer said, a single donut is $1, and a dozen is about $7.50. Was surprised to see that they also offered soup as well, they had a seafood soup today that I wish I could have tried if I hadn't gone crazy with the donuts. Maybe next time. This place has an old fashioned vibe to it, but in a good way. The cash only policy just adds to the feel of the place. It's altogether pretty perfect, in my opinion. Stop reading and go check it out!

  • Robert T.

Today I may have had the best tasting peanut covered glazed donut I have ever had. Certainly fresh baked and excellent flavor - consistent with other stops to the Donut Place. Appears to be a long-standing, 24/7 donut shop that is solidly standing the tests of time. No frills place, plenty of seating. Like others have said - takes cash only, ATM on-site. I make sure to stop any time I am in the area.

Fresh, tasty, best donuts by far! Love the owners, friendly family. Sit at the diner counter for wonderful relaxing time.

  • Chris T.

First thing I noticed stepping in was a nice warm, friendly atmosphere from the staff and other customers. Very reminiscent of classical donut shops depicted on television complete with the fresh baked goods coming out each and every morning. The prices are very good for the great quality of each pastry and it's 24 hour service makes it the place the go for a snack at any time.

  • Dan B.

Stopped b y and purchased 2-1/2 dozen this morning...WOW! Were regular customers when we lived in the area 25 years ago...first visit back in the last ten years...STILL GREAT AFTER ALL THESE YEARS! Donuts $7.50 a dozen are a stael for the quality. We'll be back. One note: Bring cash or ATM card. This is a cash or check, only, business. They do have an ATM on premises.

  • Barbara R.

This place has a great variety but the owner is not very friendly. They also DO NOT take credit cards! It's awesome that they are open 24/7 for those late nights. My friends and I were so excited to come here with all the great reviews but there wasn't anything super special about the donuts and they weren't baking them fresh in the back like we imagined. Better than Dunkin Donuts but I wouldn't go out of my way to come back.

  • Gary P.

So since I like this place so much I've decided to try all their donuts to figure out exactly what the best half dozen is. Today we tried the following: Blueberry crumb, (3) filling tasted real not artificial like most places but still a little too sweet for me. Strawberry frosted: (3) nice yeast donut strawberry frosting tastes more like frosting than strawberries if that makes any sense. Chocolate glazed: (3) again the donut is as good of a yeast donut as you're going to get but this chocolate doesn't do much for me. Sugar raised: (3) sugar on a yeast donut, hard to go wrong with that. Powdered sugar: (4) best donut of the day, nice and moist with that silky smooth powdered sugar covering an almost crispy crust. Creme filled: (1) didn't even finish this one, wayyyy to sweet. The filling tasted like white cake frosting. Really didn't like that. So as I go along I will take the best of the best and make the ultimate half or maybe even full dozen.

  • Keith B.

Very good and fresh donuts and muffins with a massive selection. Nice old school vibe with the laminate countertops, old coffee urns, and the minimalist signage that only a mom and pop donut shop can impart. Not the best donuts I've had but definitely a step way above the chains and certainly better than some of the other small business donut shops around. The crullers are awesome. If I lived in the area, it would become a Saturday morning ritual methinks. I wouldn't say you need to trek the sands of the earth for this establishment, but if you are within a 10 mile radius, then I highly recommend that you GO!

Donuts were incredible but I didn't really like the customer service. I felt like I was being rushed and the cashier was not very friendly.

  • Kate H.

This place hasn't changed much at all over the years and that is absolutely for the best. The boxes are the most perfect retro vintage without trying to be, because they're the originals. My dad used to bring me here growing up and I remember all the older gentlemen having their coffee and having their Sunday morning catchups. Not to mention their donuts are mind blowing. The Chop Suey is famous. The cake donuts and crullers are worth the splurge. Don't ever change, Donut Shack. I want to bring my grandchildren here.

  • George C.

OPEN 24 HOURS!!! Cash only. I really enjoyed the maple donut and chocolate frosted with sprinkles. The cake donut that was covered in peanuts was probably my favorite. The "Fudgie" donut was just ok. They have lot's of fresh donuts to choose from all day long. The nice surprise at Donut Shack was the drip coffee! I ordered a 2 cream, 2 sugar medium coffee and it was the best I've had in a long time. Add the good coffee to the old school decor and I'm definitely a fan of this place.

    (4)
  • William S.

This is a nice old school donut shop that is open 24hrs a day. It serves hand cut donuts. They claim to have 60 different types. I didn't count them but they have lots and in all different combinations. They serve coffee good old fashion coffee. If you looking for some crazy coffee/latte then this isn't your place. If you looking for an affordable breakfast then get carry out or slide up to the diner stools. The wait staff is nice and helpful. It is also very kid friendly. Come on it is donuts, what doesn't say kid friendly there.

  • Jamie J.

My co-worker periodically brings donut holes from the Donut Shack to work, and they are delicious, so I had to visit this place myself. I went on a Sunday afternoon around 12 pm and was able to easily find parking. The staff was very friendly. When I couldn't decide what to buy, they suggested purchasing 20 donut holes at 10 cents each so I can try a variety (btw, you can buy a maximum of 20 donut holes at 10 cents each; if you want more, you have to buy the box of 40 holes for around $5.) I was really impressed by the variety of donuts and pastries; they had flavors I've never seen at Dunkin Donuts. I purchased the French cruller and blueberry cake donuts for $1 each. These tasted good, but were not outstanding. Although I was warned by other Yelp reviews to avoid the coffee, I wanted to see if it was really that bad. Unfortunately, they were right! The coffee tastes awful and is very watery. It's a shame that a donut shop has terrible coffee; thus, I had to give them 3 stars, though I will be back for the donuts!

    (3)
  • Fuzzy B.

These are seriously good donuts. Having had them, I would not even consider going to Dunkin again, and price per dozen is only an extra $0.75. Cool old-school (but very clean) style diner counter for eat in. Good coffee too! The crumb, peanut, and coconut donuts are spectacular!

  • Tim G.

Great donuts and muffins. All fresh made. the Shack is open 24/7 so very convenient, but bring cash unless you want to use the ATM in their shop (not sure what the fees are) as they don't take credit cards or checks. But great donuts.

  • Sarah S.

LOVE IT! great variety, 24 hours. A pasttime for my kiddos and my parents. Living in San Diego now, and although the weather may be better year round, I cannot find a donut shop that comes close!

THIS PLACE IS AMAZING!! One night my fiancee and I were out on a drive and went past the Donut Shack. The honey dipped stick was to die for!!! I live in Waldorf and I am more than willing to drive an hour for their donuts. 5 stars all the way.

After multiple recommendations decided to give it a shot. So angry at myself for waiting this long. There is a donut that I have found only in New England called the Jelly Stick, which you can find in every Dunkin from CT on, but not at any in our region. Donut Shack has em! And they are incredible. Also delicious were the Boston Cream Pie with rich sweet eggy custard, the old-fashioned, strawberry frosted and blueberry. Nice shop too, good clean decor and very friendly staff. A dozen for $7.50 is very well worth it!

Time warp! The women who work there wear the scratchiest polyester shirts emblazoned with the Donut Shack logo. Big selection of donuts as well as muffins. Don't go in there looking for a bagel. You won't find one. Sit down at a stool at the counter and take it all in.

Recommended from a friend. Loved the Bavarian cream, powdered raised, and sugar raised. All were very soft with just a hint of crunch on the outside. The honey glazed chocolate was firm and delicious. Just perfect.

I had such high hopes for this place. I walked in and it smelled great, just like a real donut shop should. I ordered one honey dipped and one granulated raised donut and a small coffee with cream and sugar. The honey dipped donut was pretty good; soft and very sweet and a little crispy on the outside, though I'd guess it wasn't right out of the fryer fresh. Not the best I've ever had, but I would've come back for another. The granulated raised was horrible! For something that was coated in sugar, it was barely sweet at all! And it wasn't very soft either. I could've gotten the same effect if I had either sprinkled a little sugar on a day-old piece of white sandwich bread or had just gone to any Dunkin Donuts. Plus I think there was a little mold on it. I didn't finish it. The coffee was terrible too. Very watery and had a weird aftertaste. The service met my expectations, but is definitely not a saving grace for this place. I'll not be going back.

I love this place! I just wish I lived closer. :( I had a boston creme donut, and a glazed donut and they were both really good! Ahhh I wanna go back. The lady who worked there was kind of surly, not enough to hurt my enjoyment of the food, and i'm sure she's a nice enough lady - just wasn't very welcoming.

this place really does have some great cake donuts. I think their cake donuts are the best I've ever had. They are dense, fresh, and generously coated with toppings or glaze. The raised donuts were good, but nothing special. I felt they were too airy for my taste (my personal favorite raised donuts are from Keller's in Linthicum, MD). the 24 hours service is also a plus, but the reason I'm giving 3 stars instead of 4 is because the price per donut is higher than most at $1 a donut. That might have something to do with the round the clock operation, but I'd rather have them close late night to early morning if that meant the donuts would be a little cheaper. Anyway, I love the cake donuts and would swing by an get a few whenever I'm in the area, but I know each time I go in, I'll think about that price a little bit.

The DoNut Shack is a place that caught my eye while heading home 1 morning and I sooooo wanted to stop abruptly to just stare at this place, BuT that would've been a nasty accident to clean up. So I made it a point to visit this place the following morning. And I am so glad I did. At first, walking in I got the feel of "Dunkin FlatNuts"(No Pun Intended) which made me just a little apprehensive, but they are far from the saturated overrated giant that Dunkin is. DoNut Shack is just that, has a tad bit of nostalgia imo which feels like they are there to serve the people that come in there doors with the wide selection of DoNuts and things they have. Now the DoNuts...#HomerDRooL These aren't "Dunkin FlatNuts", they are filling, sweet, and just all out delicious. And what really sold me was the French Cruller...Unlike "FlatNuts", DS French Cruller was sweet, moist, & filled with amazing DoNut goodness. Unfortunately, sort of, now I have been working out and eating right but when I give myself a cheat day, this is the place I definitely go to.

Strawberry shortcake was incredible! Chocolate filled was better than the best cupcake I've ever had. Best customer service and super friendly, and I can't believe how amazing the prices are!! New favorite donut shop ever!!

I enjoy fatty doughnuts on occasion and this place is always open so it makes sense to finally do a review. Located in Severna park off rt.2 this place has always been there. Always friendly, a lot of styles and not just your basic : glazed , chocolate and cream filled. There's a lot of options and not always will some styles be there, how ever... Coffee is one of the worthless things to get here as it's pretty weak. I try to avoid the brew here. They just opened a Starbucks less than 300 feet away on the same side of the road, they're likely better than anything I've had here. Service is friendly, but at times often late night , you feel like they don't want you there...

Sometime ago, a co-worker brought in some donuts from the Donut Shack and I was hooked! I swear these donuts were, hands down, the best donuts I have ever eaten. Okay, maybe I'm being overly dramatic but it was an awesome donut and much better than Carlson's donuts

When I was 9 years old, and living in severna park, I actually ran away to the donut shack in hopes I could live there and just live off donuts. Now in my later years I like to stop by once a month and pick up a few for a treat. This place is incredible! The best donuts around, they have 60 varieties, and rotate the flavours 20 at a time not counting the "fancy pastries", which deserve a paragraph of thier own. The f.p's include cinnamon buns, bear claws, apple turnovers, and these are all the size of your head. For a buck fifty they are quite a deal. FYI the Coffee is skippable. Go, Go now... And get a donut.

The five stars are for the donuts! After suffering through Dunkin Donuts for years, we just moved here and love the freshness, variety and taste of the donuts at this place. My son has made many a late night trip to this place get a dozen donuts for us...I call them crack donuts :) delicious and cheap too. I cannot speak for the other food, as we have never made it past the donuts. And what kind of donut place is open 24 hours? Love it.

First off, who ever says the macaroon donuts are the best- they're totally WHACK! Everyone knows the strawberry shortcake donut and the fudgie are the best!! Kidding- this place is awesome and every donut is great- PREPARE To GAIN SERIOUS WEIGHT as every donut is truly amazing. Did I mention they are amazing donuts? Yeah, it was worth saying again. I *think* they have like 20+ types of donuts- here is a sampling: 1. fudgie- cake donut dipped in thick yummy fudge 2. peanut- yup, rolled in toasted peanut chips 3. strawberry shortcake- filled with their own cream and strawberry jam 4. peach donut- yuuuuuuuuuummmm 5. boston creme- not your average donut- they make their own cream and you can tell 6. old fashioned- PERFECT for coffee dippin' The also have coconut dipped, almond dipped, blueberry cake, crumb cake, apple fritters, cruellers, frosting topped, donut holes, and many more... They are also open 24/7 (and yes, all in a row) so you can get you donut on at any time. (just don't get the coffee...)

Best donuts around, hands down. Totally addicted to the chocolate covered cake donuts. Avoid the coffee - was a bit watery - no knocks on the rating though as I am judging the donuts.

Their donuts are DA BOMB! OMG amazing! So fresh, and the service is always friendly. A buck a donut. We usually get the vanilla cream donuts - they are stuffed so full of cream it's spilling outside - the way Dunks used to do it. Trust me, you will never want Dunks again once you've tasted these babies!

Dunkin "Who"? Once you have Donut Shack donuts you won't want a factory donut again. I have been eating Donut Shack donuts since I was a kid with my Dad and now my kids and I do too. All the donuts are made fresh all day and are hand cut. The coffee is classic donut shop style medium roast and they also serve fresh soup as well. Finally, since they are open 24hrs. you can get you donut fix anytime the urge hits. Enjoy! D. J.

Friendly people, the hours are perfect - 24 hrs! Also, I've been in here in uniform before to take donuts to my crew at work and they have given them to me gratis at times (think it was a holiday). Fantastic and they even refused to take a big tip I offered. Their donuts are fairly good, not great or exceptional, which is all that prevents me from giving them five stars. If I want donuts, I drive here even though it's opposite of my route to work and I pass a Dunkin Donuts otherwise.

We have moved around the country and everywhere we have been, we have sought out the best donuts. Well, these by far, are the best donuts of all the places we have been!! Macaroon, toasted coconut, blueberry cake, strawberry shortcake, sour cream, whole wheat, fudgie...oh my word! Not to mention, hands down, the best apple fritters ever!! Pop them in the microwave for 45 seconds and pure HEAVEN!!

I teetered between three and four stars for the Donut Shack. But I had to go with three. The problem here is that their coffee is really not good. I'm not a coffee snob. I drink Starbucks sometimes and Dunkin Donuts, I hit up Caffe Pronto and Baltimore Coffee and Tea sometimes, and when I'm home I drink Maxwell House. But the coffee at the Donut Shack is pretty damn bad. I picked up a few donuts and a cup of coffee on my way to NYC last weekend and needless to say, I wasn't pleased. But the donuts are great and are far more unique than anywhere else in the area. So stop in and eat donuts, just don't drink the coffee.

  • Srebrina M.

Ok, I will start with - I'm pregnant and I really wish this place was closer to Baltimore. Best 3 things about it - it's open 24 hours - or at least until 2 am I believe, they make everything from scratch, so it's super fresh, and they serve soups and all which are just as good as the pastries. Basically I am not the biggest donut fan in the world, being from Europe and all, but I could eat their stuff every day and love every bit of it!

Best donuts ever! Coffee is simple and tasty. Only complaint is they do not accept credit/debit cards. But they do have an ATM in the store and open 24/7

The donuts here are average. They have an interesting selection though. Its only worth going to if it is 3 am and you are in the area.....desperate for a sugar fix.

i came here with my two brothers and sister after we put away our weight in crab's at cantler's up the road. i cannot explain what possessed us to continue eating-we weren't even stoned. i guess the lure of "fourth meal" was just too great. the good news is the donuts were fresh and tasty and they are open 24 hours. plus, if you work up an appetite putting a few of these babies away and decide you might like a snack, there is a decent mexican place right next door. this review is proof i am an american.

Macaroon crunch donuts amongst other unique selections makes this place a classic donut haven! Remember when Dunkin Donuts acutally made the donuts at the store? Donut Shack still does and you can tell the difference. The coffee is also good and no matter how much you order they always ask "what else?".

    (4)
  • Scott D.

Absolutely, positively the best donuts around. Everything fresh and great people! I try to limit myself to once a week but... A neighborhood place to sit and enjoy.

  • M T.

I've stuffed my face with quite a few of these thick, cakey (but not dry!) donuts. I'm especially a fan of the cocunut. Yum!

  • Cate B.

All the complaints about the coffee must be coming from people who prefer the mud-style coffee that is so bold you have to chew it first. The coffee at The Donut Shack is perfect every time. Consistantly smooth and the perfect compliment to the most delectable hand cut and homemade donuts around. This brings up memories of the donut shops of my childhood that were more like true bakeries. Worth the trip.

Delicious donuts! I had a donut w/ some kind of crumbly goodness on top. Thank goodness I didn't go inside to make a selection myself and thank goodness there is no Donut Shack in Sacramento, CA.
